At Least it wasn’t a Yooper brought to you by Kara Applekamp at State Farm…

A former police officer in Pennsylvania has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for a bad pick-up move — he pulled over a female motorist just to give her his phone number.

Prosecuters say 32 year old Steven Klinger was off duty in April 2007 when he used red and blue flashing lights mounted on the dashboard of his pickup truck to pull the woman over. Authorities say the woman became suspicious when Klinger began asking if she was married or had a boyfriend.

Klinger was given three addition days in jail at his sentencing this week for drunk driving during a seperate incident and having a blood alcohol level five times the legal limit. He’d worked for the Dallas Police Department in northeastern PA.
