Free Airplane Flights for Youth May 16

K.I. Sawyer – Lake Superior Chapter 850 of the National Experimental Aircraft Association will offer free airplane flights for youths ages 8 to 17 on Saturday, May 16 from noon to 3 p.m. in the general aviation terminal south of the main passenger terminal at Sawyer International Airport.

Parents or legal guardians must complete a required EAA permission form prior to the flight, and legal guardians must have documentation.

The flights are offered through the Young Eagles program, sponsored by the NEAA. All pilots are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration and donate the use of their planes.

Flights may be canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions. A decision to fly will be made by 6 p.m. the preceding day and will be posted on the Lake Superior EAA Web site.
