MARQUETTE, MI – UP Health System – Marquette announced that Amadeo Sturla, MD, will join its Emergency Medicine department on June 16, 2016.
Dr. Sturla comes to Marquette from HealthEast Care Systems in St. Paul, MN. He earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, West Indies, and completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at Central Michigan University Graduate Medical Educational in Saginaw, MI.
Dr. Sturla brings advanced knowledge of emergency medicine to the Upper Peninsula and specialized knowledge of emergency radiology, bedside ultrasonography, and professional experience as an EMS Supervisor.
Dr. Sturla said, “I am thrilled to be in the Upper Peninsula and to come aboard at UP Health System – Marquette. When I first came to the UP, it immediately felt like home.” Sturla is an outdoor enthusiast, scuba diver, mountain biker, and winter sportsman. He brings his family – wife Mary and their son – with him to Marquette.
