Marquette, MI – The Peter White Public Library’s Film Club, welcomes the public to a screening of the modern classic film The Mission on Thursday, April 18 at 1:00 pm in the library’s Community Room.

Jeremy Irons and Robert De Niro star as two men—one of the sword and one of the cloth—who unite to risk everything against the forces of two empires in order to save a South American Indian tribe in danger of falling under the rule of pro-slavery Portugal during the mid-18th century.

Nominated for 7 Oscars and 5 Golden Globe awards, The Mission was released in 1986, is rated PG and runs for 128 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.

There is no admission charge thanks to sponsorship by the Friends of the Peter White Public Library. For more information visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
