Marquette, Michigan – Enjoy a Sunday afternoon piano concert at Peter White Public Library showcasing the musical talents of pianist, Nancy Royce Railey with special guests, the Marquette Folk Dancers, on Sunday, April 14 at 2:00 pm in the library’s community room.
The recital will include several classical works Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and Bartok’s Folk Dances adaptations. For comparison, the Marquette Folk Dance troupe will demonstrate the traditional dances to the original folk music.
For over 25 years, Railey has been performing and teaching in the Marquette area. Nancy is a founder of the Lake Superior Piano Workshop and is active in the Marquette Area Piano Teachers’ Association providing private lessons in her home studio.
Nancy received her music education from the Eastman School of Music, the American Conservatory and Indiana University School of Music. She has been on the faculties of Kent State University, the Wisconsin Conservatory, and the College of St. Scholastica, where she was Artist-in-Residence.
