About A Mile

“The message of the song ‘Satisfied’ reminds me of the time growing up when my dad lost his job at the steel mill. He had been working there for over twenty years, and I could tell he was really broken when I asked him, “Dad, what are we going to do?” He looked at me with tears in his eyes and he said, “Son, I’m not the provider for this family. God is the provider for this family, and He is going to continue to provide for us.” As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that our satisfaction doesn’t come from things like job security or relationships or anything this world has to offer us. It comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and in Him alone we are satisfied.”

-Adam from About A Mile

WHO is About A Mile? About A Mile consists of brothers Adam, Levi, and Luke who hail from the working class town of Butler, Pennsylvania (just outside of Pittsburgh). They remember embracing their musical instincts as early as they did a devout Christian faith which was first modeled by their extremely hard working father. He was a steel mill staffer who always managed to make ends meet for his family of six, thanks to a firm reliance on the Lord. Lead singer Adam says, “We worked hard and had a lot of fun. Our dad always told us, ‘I don’t care what you do, just honor God and don’t work in the steel mill!’

WHAT does the band name mean? “About A Mile comes from the fact that Jesus carried His cross About A Mile. When we felt called to play music for the rest of our life, there was never any doubt that we would do it for His glory and treat our ministry like He did when carrying the cross. We’re called to take it as far as we can and lead as many people to Christ as possible. We do that by sharing the message of the gospel through our music and actions. Our music is honest because we write from our hearts, bold because we know we have a message that needs to be heard, and passionate because it’s what we love doing.”
