KEITH URBAN entertained more than 250 thousand fans at the Daytona International Speedway on Sunday before the big NASCAR race got underway. Broadcast live on FOX-TV as well, Keith’s mini-concert included his latest single, “Sweet Thing,” the lead release from his March 31st album release Defying Gravity.
Keith also took the press room by surprise, performing a few songs for the members of the media including a cover of “Sister Golden Hair” by AMERICA. Keith also revealed that he has driven 130 miles an hour in his personal car, saying, quote, “It was pretty insane. It was only for a glimpse.”
Also at the race was TOM CRUISE, who happens to be the ex-husband of Keith’s wife, NICOLE KIDMAN. Keith and Tom both appeared at a pre-race driver meeting, where Tom applauded the singer.
Of note, JULIANNE HOUGH was forced to bow out of her gig singing the national anthem prior to the Daytona 500.
