“Sowing the Seeds of Love” is a 1989 song by the British group Tears for Fears. The song reached #5 in the UK, #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and #1 on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart. It was the first and biggest hit from their 1989 album The Seeds of Love, also reaching the Top 5 in Ireland, Italy, New Zealand and the Netherlands, and the Top 20 in many other countries. The song is notable for being a pastiche of The Beatles.[1]
The music video, directed by Jim Blashfield, won two awards at the MTV Music Video Awards – Best Breakthrough Video and Best Special Effects.[2]
