New Mike Aiken Single, “Your Memory Wins,” Delivers a Dose of Much Needed Traditional Country to Radio Today

Mike Aiken

Mike Aiken

Nashville, TN (August 5, 2014) – Northwind Records’ Mike Aiken steers away from songs about tailgates, beer and first kisses with a tribute to traditional roots country and life-long love with the release of “Your Memory Wins.” As summer days slip away and school bells start to ring, the anthems of country music are winding down and making room for more traditional songs.

Billboard’s Chuck Dauphin writes, “The emotional center of the album is the touching ‘Your Memory Wins’.”
From Aiken’s critically acclaimed CAPTAINS & COWBOYS CD, this soulful song talks about the emptiness that remains after you lose the love of your life. Co-written with Austin Cunningham and produced by Dan Baird (Georgia Satellites) who played electric guitar and sang harmony on the track, “Your Memory Wins” is a true traditional country ballad with haunting pedal steel and melancholy baritone guitar.

“When Austin and I set out to write a traditional, cry-in-your-beer, country song I don’t think either of us thought we’d truly catch it this well,” Mike Aiken says, “I’m really proud of how this song turned out. It took us over a year to finish and during that time we both had things happen in our lives that took the song even closer to the bone. The icing for me was when we got the legendary Dan Dugmore to track pedal steel. That dude can reach in your chest, pull out your heart, wring it out and put it back; add the baritone and you’re walking down lonely street… one step closer to tears.”

The single ships this week on CDX Vol. 601 and is also available on AirPlay Direct.

JMAXX’ New International Music Video Celebrates Women

Today, singer and songwriter Justin Egling aka JMAXX, announced that his second international music video Sassy Girl will be dedicated to women working within the entertainment industry.

“Sassy Girl” – The second release from JMAXX’ 3rd album, Kiss of the Spider was shot within a day and a half and produced by Flash Forward Productions.

The visual concept is based on the seductive influences of the Femme fatale. “Our searches for our leading lady started with a look at the performing arts. Our desire to capture the raw feminine energy led us straight into to the talented dancer and entertainer Candice Faul”

“The release of Sassy Girl is a simple gesture that I hope will renew man’s adoration and respect for the fairer sex. It would please me if all the women of the world could rediscover their inner power and purpose”

The Sassy Girl tune is a fun, upbeat and catchy pop tune. This sentiment is complimented by a colourful music video, that captures the flamboyancy typically found at Mardi Gras and Carnivals. The mysterious and uncanny narrative twist, with its unique sexy style is edgy in nature and promises to break the mould of conventional music videos world-wide. Biography

Durban born, Justin Egling, aka JMAXX is a rare talent, displaying a deep understanding of South Africa’s various black cultural influences. With a zest for RMB, Kwaito, Hip-Hop and House mixed with a flavour of Pop, he is preparing to explode into the South African music scene with a BANG! Coming from a Portuguese mother, a Jewish father and German grandfather, he boldly ventures into the world of rhythm.

His love for the African beats and rhythmic influences forges a complex character, searching for release. This driving force feeds his desire, pushing him forward, expressing itself through song; a curiosity becomes a hobby to write and compose his own melodies and lyrics, and then finally, late in 2008 it culminates in the evolution of JMAXX.

Inherently very soft-spoken, bordering on shy with a passion for animals, he speaks with a determination and flaunts a “never say die” attitude. JMAXX declares: “I recognize that knowledge is power”. “They can strip you of everything, but they cannot take away dreams and knowledge” he testifies.

He portrays a childlike craziness, and displays an invincible spirit when he steps onto a stage.” This is the place he was born to be. Here, he is free to entertain patrons and fans with an energy and passion that has no bounds. JMAXX projects an inner strength, more like a power of being in total control conveying his feelings through this powerful medium of music.

His development from strength to strength culminated in the release of an album last year mostly contemporary pop. Each song with its own flavour: dance, acid jazz, ballads, trance, rock, country and reggae. “Living in a Danger Zone” is in stores through Bowline Music: the distribution company. His music videos, produced by Orcansu Productions, were broadcast on SABC, Channel O (Channel 320 on DSTV) and ETV with nationwide exposure on most radio stations.

da Upper Yoopers’ Barbershop⁺ Chorus….September 23rd

…..will probably be a THING on September 23, from 7 – 8:45 p.m., at the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room, and each week after that, in another location. That will be our Chapter’s first meeting, ever!

Three days before that, you and many, many more are invited to attend the Escanaba Remnants Chorus show, called the Harvest of Harmony on September 20. Their headliner quartet is Masterpiece (International Champions, 2013!!) Check them out on YouTube, or at

We intend to hire a Checker bus (or two, if the need arises) to pick us all up around 5-5:30 p.m., travel directly to the 7 p.m. show, take us all to the Afterglow that usually lasts to about midnight, then take us all to our pickup spot(s). Show tickets, with Afterglow are $20. Donations for cold cut sandwiches at the Afterglow average around $5, (drinks are extra), and the bus cost will range from $16-30, depending on how many attend and which vehicle(s) is/are used that night. Totals for the night could range from $30 – $55 each person. This is yet another example of “Many hands, light work”!

We hope to get much more specific as soon as possible, and you can help. Please call, text, or email Pete at with your intentions as soon as you can; preferably before August 17.

Alternatively, those on Facebook can go to and click on the event there.

Sooner is better: A local self-identifying ‘Groupie’, Blanche Brown, is already calling a list of 68 people from Marquette and Alger counties that are on record for attending previous Remnant’s shows on their own, and many of them may jump at the chance to safely nap on part of the way home, before you even get the chance! Others make a weekend of it, staying in Escanaba overnight on their own.

Please share this widely, and expect this to be an annual THING, too!

Documentary Feature Film “The Anatomy of a Great Deception” Makes All Star Red Carpet Premiere at The Fillmore Detroit on September 5th

Ed Asner, Omar Sharif, Richard Gage and Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth Come Together to Support Detroit Premiere of 9/11-focused Feature Length Documentary Film “The Anatomy of a Great Deception”.

Detroit, MI (August 19, 2014) – Documentarian David Hooper premieres feature film The Anatomy of a Great Deception (AGD) about one innocent question turned personal investigation of 9/11. The result? His marriage, relationships and sanity were pushed to the brink – everything crumbling around him. He has one chance to get his life back. This film is that chance.

“The Anatomy of a Great Deception is the result of my initial unanswered questions. How could WTC Building 7 fall when no plane collided into it?” asked David Hooper, AGD Documentarian. “This film is the result of my engagement in conversations with others on their thoughts and findings on 9/11. I hope this film can further that dialogue.”

AGD Technical Advisor, Richard Gage (AIA Founder, Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth), recently appeared on C-Span’s Washington Journal for a 45-minute segment with Host Peter Slen – a notably rare opportunity for the 9/11 Truth Movement to present their message to a national audience of millions. The invitation was a result of a year-long campaign by supporters requesting that AE911Truth appear on the show to spotlight WTC Building 7’s story. Gage presented to viewers that the focus of AE911Truth’s 2,200 architects and engineers was the science of the event, and based on their conclusions, they are calling for a new, independent investigation.

Hooper’s search for answers put him on a direct path with Gage. Gage saw the film after the initial friends and family viewing which ignited a YouTube following and a partnership evolved from there.

“This film has the best chance in years to push the 9/11 debate into the mainstream,” said Richard Gage.

community of 45,000 plus members resulting in over a thousand donations to raise $53,700 to bring the film to its completion. Along the way, Ed Asner and Omar Sharif became supporters, as well.

About Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth.

Below is a summary of information that AE911Truth feels the public needs to know regarding the events of September 11, 2001, in New York City.

AE911Truth has carefully studied the publicly available information on the destruction of World Trade Center Buildings 1, 2, and 7. This evidence includes video and audio recordings, photographs, eyewitness accounts, and physical evidence.

As building and technical professionals, the architects and engineers research and comment on only this forensic and recorded evidence, which has led them to the inevitable conclusion that the three skyscrapers were willfully destroyed by controlled demolition using explosives and incendiaries, supporting the conclusion that the hypotheses for the buildings’ destruction given in the official reports published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, an arm of the U.S. government, are seriously flawed and scientifically impossible.

Adam’s Attic

Adam's Attic

Adam’s Attic

Brought together by a passion for music and unity in the face of adversity, Adam’s Attic inspires listeners with an honest, open sound. From New Orleans to their current home in Los Angeles, the pop/rock band has matured musically and captivated audiences on a global scale. The band of brothers just wrapped their fifth international tour in 2014.

“While here (New Orleans), the band proved itself to be one of the rising stars on the scene,” remarked Todd Miller, Talent Buyer for House of Blues.

In August 2005, one of the five deadliest hurricanes in U.S. history struck the north-central Gulf Coast region destroying their homes in New Orleans. Through the devastation, Adam’s Attic was forced out of its comfort zone, responded by bonding together, and stepping out on faith. Joe Henry, Adam’s Attic front man, said, “Some of us lost everything we had, with the exception of our music gear and some personal items; all of the venues we played were closed or out of business. Only a week before Katrina, we were given the most amazing opportunity to open for Lifehouse at House of Blues New Orleans. We had to act.”

Leaving behind everything in the hopes of recreating past successes, the musicians moved across the country to California. Adam’s Attic demonstrates that hard times are merely a trial by fire; perseverance through adversity creates the opportunities for success.

The group has seized one success after another by appearing on KTLA Morning News five times, headlining numerous sold out shows at House of Blues and Hard Rock Cafe, touring five continents, receiving sponsorships exceeding $200,000, and penning eighty songs registered with BMI. With the accumulation of small successes that led to becoming darlings of New Orleans, Adam’s Attic is a rising star in the world market.

Jessica Holmes, KTLA Morning News at 9 Anchor, raved, “Joe, you got pipes man! You can sing; you guys were excellent. I can picture you may be selling out Staples center.”
