Kids in the Kitchen!
Kids can cook too, even at a young age. Get your kid involved in the kitchen at this hands-on parent-child cooking class, where participants will learn to make a variety of healthy, tasty snacks. An adult must accompany the child/children. Class participants enter the museum for free, other family members are welcome to use the museum at regular entrance price or with membership.
Where: U.P. Children’s Museum
When: Thursday, February 21, at 5:30pm
Cost: $12 for parent(s) and child, $15 for two children. Co-op owners take $2 off final price

Getting Started with Field Grown Vegetables
Michigan State University Extension is offering a series of five on-line webinars for beginning farmers. Topics to be discussed: Basics of production and marketing, Economics and records, Opportunities in the Upper Peninsula. Presenters: Hal Hudson, Warren Schauer, and Jim Isleib.

Raising Your Own Fruit Trees
Apples, plums, pears…imagine having only to walk out into your yard to enjoy these delicious fruits. With a little work and investment you can easily take pleasure in the beauty fruit trees bring to your yard and the flavors they bring to your table. Everything from variety selection, pest control, fertilization, sanitation, to watering will be covered by MSU Extension crop specialist and fruit tree enthusiast Jim Isleib. Everyone from home gardeners to commercial growers welcome.
When: Wednesday, March 6 at 6pm
Where: Peter White Public Library Community Room
Cost: Free to Co-op owners, $3 suggested donation for all others
