Readers Theater Reads “Shakespeare in Love” February 21, 2013

Written by Oscar winners Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard, “Shakespeare in Love” is the screenplay to the critically acclaimed film which New York Newsday called one of the funniest, most enchanting, most romantic, and best written tales ever spun from the vast legend of Shakespeare. The story depicts a love affair involving playwright, William Shakespeare at the time that he was writing the play Romeo and Juliet. The story is fiction, though several of the characters are based on real people. In addition, many of  the characters, lines, and plot devices are references to Shakespeare’s plays.

Peter White Public Library’s Readers Theater is a group of adults, who are interested in drama and are willing and able to read a scripted role. They meet on the third Thursday of each month to read plays for enjoyment.  New readers are always welcome.
