LANSING – Before there were telephones, emails, or texting, people wrote letters to express their love. Fans of Pure Michigan are invited to bring back the love letter for an opportunity to win a trip for two to Mackinac Island – a well romantic getaway destination.
Whether it’s Michigan’s sandy beaches, scenic golf courses, or a night of food and culture on the town, fans are invited to write a letter, in 1,000 characters or less, on what they love about Michigan or why they would like to visit.
The Pure Michigan “A Love So Grand” contest runs through April 30 and includes accommodations at Grand Hotel for two nights, full breakfast and five-course dinner and 18 holes of golf on The Jewel. Airfare and/or transportation to Grand Hotel is not included.
“The Pure Michigan campaign evokes emotion and creates stories and memories about the moments and places in Michigan people love,” said George Zimmermann, Vice President of Travel Michigan, part of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. “This contest is a way to continue that conversation with our fans and hear first hand about their passion for our state.”
Participants can submit their Pure Michigan love letter through the entry form on michigan.org, Pure Michigan Facebook contest tab, or Grand Hotel Facebook contest tab starting today and running through Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at midnight. Entries are limited to one unique entry per participant.
All submissions will appear on michigan.org, the Pure Michigan Facebook contest tab and Grand Hotel Facebook contest tab from April 24 – 30, where fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite entry. You must be a fan of Pure Michigan (when participating via the Pure Michigan Facebook contest tab) or Grand Hotel (when participating via the Grand Hotel Facebook contest tab) on Facebook to view and vote on the entries.
The winner will be chosen from the top 10 entries, as voted by fans, based on which letter best reflects a passion for or the desire to experience Pure Michigan. The winner will be announced during the week of May 5. Official rules and regulations are available on michigan.org.
