Novi, Michigan – February, 2013 – Michigan-based film company, Mother and Midwife Pictures, is hosting a party to celebrate the recent completion of their cast for their upcoming feature film, Papou. The film will tell the story about the relationship between a wildly imaginative young boy and his cancer-stricken grandfather. The film is to be shot completely in Michigan and has hired almost an exclusively local cast, save for the titular lead role of the grandfather, whose name has not yet been released. Producer and director Michael Angelo Zervos “wants the community to be involved as much as possible in the creation of the film. Hosting this party will give Michigan residents the opportunity to meet with the people behind the project, both cast and crew. I know that Michigan loves its budding film industry and this is one way for its people to participate in its success.”
The party, which is being held at George’s Senate Coney Island in Northville, is open to the public and will feature an all-you-can-eat buffet, live Greek music, a raffle with high-end prizes, and a cash bar. Doors are open at 4pm.
Tickets are being pre-sold up until the event but can still be purchased at the door ($20 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under). All proceeds go directly towards the production of the film.
