Omoreka is a Danish act fronted by singer and producer Peter Lehmann. The band sprung out of a devastating fire, which wiped out Peters recording studio Baandkraft in 2008. That also led to Peter’s departure to the US where he caught the interest of his managers Al Cafaro and John Scher who are running Metropolitan Hybid.
In 2011 Omoreka won The Freshman MTV competition with the music video ‘Turn My Head’ which was chosen by MTV (together with four other music videos) among all music videos admitted to MTV. For one week MTV-fans from around the world could vote for their favorite music video on MTV.com and the winner would be posted on MTV.com in all eternity. OMOREKA WON!
In 2013 Omoreka released their first 7-song album Make It Big on the indie label His Mothers Advice. This led to a signing in 2014 with the New Zealand based company Do It Records.
Omoreka has toured with and opened for acts as Jeremy Enigk and 3 Doors Down
In Europe English, Italian and Danish radio stations have all welcomed Omoreka´s songs and has gained a rare feat for an upcoming artist when one of their songs, Did You Notice, was put in rotation on England´s largest rock radio station, Kerrang Radio.
Quote from Cross Counties Radio, England:
“This is an amazing sound from one of the best unsigned artists I have heard. Omoreka is unique, there are no comparisons to be made with any other artist, either in performance or song writing. I really was excited to listen to him and can’t wait to get more of his songs on our stations playlist for the Unsigned Show” David Harris Boulter, Managing Director, Cross Counties Radio / The Sunflower Community Radio Association.
From All Scandinavian:
“To be honest this is a quite a no-brainer to predict that this album is going to do great. ‘This Year’ has been banging away on the All Scandinavian stereo since this SpaceScan”
