The Cheaters, along with their infectious melodies and high-energy harmonies, are making their country debut with their highly anticipated release of their eight-song EP Waitin’ On Right Now. This EP will be released Tuesday, July 8th on iTunes and other online retailers.
Complete with high-energy, country-rock anthems and touching ballads which showcase their melodic vocals and compliment their edgy style, Waitin’ On Right Now is destined to be a fan and critic favorite alike. “We have never been more proud of anything we have ever created,” said lead singer, Jason Morton. “We are not defined by a genre on this album and just wanted to create great songs that make you feel something. A great song is a great song no matter what formats it fits in. Our goal was to come to Nashville to write and create an EP with amazing songs and good stories. Our original fans have had a great reaction, even though some of the elements are more different than previous projects, but they seem to have embraced the change. We have still managed to keep that edge.” This new EP brings these rockers into new territory with a fresh palette of influences ranging from rock acts like The Black Crowes to country acts like Eric Church.
These coastal Maryland natives co-wrote over half of the songs on the EP, and also featured celebrated writers such as Will Hoge, Frank Myers, Luke Laird, Ashley Gorley, Jonathan Singleton, Phil O’Donnell, David Lee Murphy, Shane McAnally, Preston Brust, Chris Lucas, Phil Barton, Chris DeStefano, Josh Osborne, Dean Dillon, Tommy Harden, and Erik Dylan. Some notable musicians that played for the record include Tommy Harden (drums), David Labruyere (Bass), Adam Shoenfeld (Guitar), Jeff King (Guitar), Jim “Moose” Brown (Keys), Dan Dugmore (Pedal Steel and Lap Steel). The EP was produced by songwriter, producer and drummer, Tommy Harden, who also tours with Reba McEntire. This project perfectly demonstrates The Cheaters thriving creativity while pushing their horizons artistically. The Cheaters have sold thousands of records and played over 1,000 shows throughout the U.S.A., in addition to successfully performing in Europe, Guam and Japan. The Cheaters have also shared the stage with such diverse national acts as ZZ Top, Eric Church, The Pretenders, Shooter Jennings, John Anderson, The Stray Cats, Ace Frehley, SLASH, REO Speedwagon, The Wailers, and many others.
