It’s been two years since Jason Michael Carroll’s debut album, Waitin’ In The Country, established him as one of the top new males in the country music business. Now the waitin’ is almost over for his follow-up, Growing Up Is Getting Old, and Jason says the project comes after a period of personal growth.
“What’s different about me since Waitin’ In The Country came out, I think, is the fact that I honestly feel like my bedtime has gotten a little earlier,” Jason Michael says. “Bein’ on the road, I didn’t realize all the hard work that goes into being an artist and tryin’ to make it on the road and surviving out here. You know, there’s a lot of folks tryin’ to do what you’re doin’, so you really have to take it seriously. And that’s probably one of the things I had to really grasp – and grasp quick – was tryin’ to realize that there’s a lot of folks doin’ this, and I need to be at the top of my game every chance I get, so I do get a lot more rest than I used to … but I can still sleep when I’m dead.”
Growing Up comes out Tuesday, and Jason will give a concert that night in Lebanon, Tenn., arriving via “Hello Copter” from Nashville, according to The Tennessean. He’s also featured on the Tuesday edition of GAC Nights at 8 p.m. ET.
