Momentum continues for the Michigan tourism industry, as confirmed by the latest statewide hotel data from Smith Travel Research. In February, the Michigan hotel occupancy rate was 51.9%, up from 50.3% in February of 2012. The average daily rate (ADR) was $82.14, up from $78.77 in February 2012. And revenue per available hotel room (RevPAR) was $42.62, up from $39.61 in February 2012. The combined Michigan hotel occupancy rate for the first two months of 2013 is at the highest level since we started acquiring this data in 2004.
